Larry Bell brewed his first commercial beer in 1985 out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has grown the brewery into one of the most respected and sought after craft beers in the country. Although QG’s Clock Bar spotlights mostly local draughts on tap, we will always have space on our list for great beers and Bell’s Two Hearted Ale makes a consistent appearance.
Consistent enough that we were able to secure Hopslam Ale which is allocated once a year to a handful of bars in Maryland and across the country. Join us to enjoy our one keg. Unfortunately after that it will be gone to see if we are lucky enough to get it next year. Bonus to boot will be any tabs over $25 including food will get to keep and take home a Hopslam snifter (UPDATE: Due to demand we are no longer able to provide snifters with $25 purchase).
If you are not familiar with Hopslam here are the details: Starting with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle & culminating with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops, Bell's Hopslam Ale possesses the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's repertoire.
Selected specifically because of their aromatic qualities, these Pacific Northwest varieties contribute a pungent blend of grapefruit, stone fruit and floral notes. A generous malt bill and a solid dollop of honey provide just enough body to keep the balance in check, resulting in a remarkably drinkable rendition of the Double India Pale Ale style.
