Custom Clothing Process

Questions? We've got answers

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. APPOINTMENT

We operate by appointment but you're always welcome to stop by our showroom. Make an appointment through "Contact" or start off with a "Consult" to tell us what you're looking for.

2. FIRST FITTING

Appointments typically take an hour. There's an initial fitting along with guidance for all the decisions that go into making your suit.

3. SECOND FITTING

In about 4-6 weeks time* your suit is delivered and we contact you for a second fitting. If there are any alterations, we have these done within a week**.

4. FROM THERE

We then have your pattern and re-ordering is straightforward. Making changes to your pattern is simple. We can keep as many ‘cuts’ as you wish. The system works in the same way for shirts.

* delivery times may vary with construction, cloth choice, and availability. Occasional delays due to cloth availability and construction materials may occur.

**one week is typical turnaround. Occasionally delays can occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT ABOUT ALTERATIONS?

Alterations included in the initial purchase. We only charge for alterations when it’s a result of a significant and measurable change in build.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TAILORS?

We specialize in making our clothing comfortable and easy to wear. Our house cut is worn close to the body without being uncomfortable. Our pattern follows the natural contours of the body--creating a beautiful drape and masculine shape. In order to achieve optimal comfort and fit, only natural, soft, supple and lightweight materials are used. Our traditional Italian construction features a variety of manufacturing passages done by hand--and uses only floating canvas construction.

We utilize a full lifestyle approach to help our clients breakdown their relationship with clothing. We help them to learn and discover what they wear and why they wear it. We consider it a collaborative experience and one that unfolds naturally over time. We encourage you to keep in contact with your clothier about your ideas to facilitate this progression.

CLOTH & TRIMS

We only work with the best Biella fabric mills, most notably: Loro Piana, E. Zegna, Ferla, Vitale Barberis Canonico and Carlo Barbera. We also work with some of the classic UK and Irish mills for specific requests. We offer from S100’s, S130’s and S150’s (and more), most of these classics are made with our signature and exclusive double-twisted yarns for the best performance possible.

We always offer new seasonal fabrics twice a year in early January and early July. With approximately 100 new, hand-selected cloths each season for suits and jackets, these fabrics are available as long as supplies last.

Our shirting cloths are Italian spun and woven Egyptian cottons.

It’s all in the details. That’s why we only work with the best button and lining suppliers and the best possible materials: viscose and Bemberg for our linings and the finest horn, mother-of-pearl, and nut for our buttons.

WHERE ARE YOUR GARMENTS MADE?

We construct our garments with a number of ateliers around the world. We work with partners in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and China. With our own people on the factory floors, we’re able to guarantee a smooth process, consistent high quality, and the best value for money.
