Introductions May Not Be Necessary

Meet Michael Murphy.  Yes, you may already know him, but if you do not, here is our introduction. He has been working in Downtown Baltimore for over 35 years, primarily at retailer Jos. A Banks.  He has outfitted most of our Dads, brothers, co-workers and friends for work and special occasions.  The QG is proud to announce that Michael has joined us on a part-time basis and can be found in our Hunt Valley location, but is also available to meet Downtown by appointment.

For the past thirty-five years, Michael has been the go-to for almost every politician, judge, CEO and executive in this city. He comes from parents who both were in retail, and they knew very early on that he would follow in their footsteps because of his knack for "dressing up."

His love for helping clients build a wardrobe that "looks and feels good" has kept him motivated to stay in the business.  As a long time client and referrer of business, The QG seemed to be a great fit to continue his legacy.  According to Michael, The QG also offers more of a lifestyle approach that he can partner with in each department to offer a head to toe solution. He also believes that the "fit" of the garment is one of the more important aspects of clothing, and appreciates the reputation of the QG tailoring department. Finally, brands like Barbour, Ballin, Seaward & Stern, Alden, Ledbury and Filson all offer his aesthetic of classics that never go out of style.

On a personal note, Michael is a golf enthusiast, a fan of steeplechase, active in the Irish community as a member of the Friendly Sons and Hibernians, and is an enthusiast of classic sports cars like his Austin Healey. He and his wife Pauline reside in the Bel Air area.
