Many wouldn't consider anything from the year 2006 worthy of the moniker “vintage,” but most cigar manufacturers lack the commitment, innovation, and creativity to produce a product deserving of such a tag. Leave it to the hardest working man in the cigar industry, Rocky Patel, to create such a product; the company reinvents vintage with the introduction of the Rocky Patel 2006 Vintage San Andreas.

The 2006 Vintage San Andreas marks the launch of a new companion to the vintage series. Crafted out of the Patel boutique Nicaraguan tobacco factory, the blend is composed starting with an 11 year old aged Mexican wrapper from the San Andreas region of Mexico. Paired with Nicaraguan fillers and a Connecticut Broadleaf Binder, the 2006 may be the youngest of the vintage series, but it delivers just as robust a flavor as any other, offering a spicy, medium to full bodied smoke, with a leathery finish.

Keeping with the idea of making what’s old new again, what better to pair with this vintage cigar than a glass of the classic cognac, Hennessy. A glass of cognac with a cigar is as much of a staple pairing as any other. While the debate on which holds the most importance is unresolved, when paired properly, the result is a heightened experience.

On Wednesday, November 8th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., The QG will host a Hennessy Cognac and Rocky Patel Cigar pairing event. This event is open to the public.
