Get Summer Ready: Waxing 101

Memorial day is coming up, so now is a great time to consider coming out of hibernation and begin thinking about waxing.  Your hair grows in stages and catching up to your hair growth before it’s time to bare that body at the pool can allow you more time to enjoy your summer. Forget the pesky shaving and enjoy your time in the sun!

You have three stages of hair growth. More frequent appointments at the beginning of the waxing season, around every four to six weeks, will allow your maintenance schedule to be booked further apart; more like every eight to ten weeks.

In addition, waxing can slow hair growth over time. Pulling hair out from the roots will help to close down the hair shaft and eventually the hair will stop growing back as noticeably.  There are hormonal areas like the back and bikini that will most likely always grow back but can certainly be minimized and will appear lessened the more and more that you wax.

When you are ready to consider waxing, the hair needs to be at least a quarter of an inch in length. This on average is two to three weeks of growth.  Here at our spa at The QG we can do any kind of body waxing and can accommodate appointments seven days per week.

Please wait 24 hours after your waxing appointment before you spend a day in the sun, and as always, use SPF.
