Believe it or not, QG’s ready-to-wear menswear department will be 5 years old this December. Our ready-to-wear retail originated from our custom clothing department started one year earlier. Many of our custom clothing customers kept asking about having clothing in stock. Things have changed over the years and we have spent time talking to many of you about your needs and preferences. Your comments were heard and in response we offer a more diverse line of items and have also addressed fit, feel and price. Just like our other services, QG will never be known for the least expensive options, but we always want to be known for high value products we offer. Let us walk you through our shirt options currently landing in our stores for the Fall and Winter seasons.

Casual Brands

Barbour

Barbour’s Fall Winter 18 Flannel Series

Barbour, a top English brand most known for their waxed cotton jackets, is one of our casual lines. Their shirts are great for a night out on the town and also work well for business casual environments. Barbour shirts are designed to be layered and we have plenty of options with sweaters, vests and jackets. The following are just a few of the designs we are carrying in the store, and are priced reasonably for a quality luxury brand starting at $119.

CAsual/Formal Brands

Mizzen and Main

Houston Texan JJ Watt is a big believer in Mizzen+Main

Mizzen+Main is a fabric story. Their goal was to make a performance dress shirt made in the United States. The result is a machine-washable shirt with 4 way stretch, sweat wicking properties, more form fitting and wrinkle resistant. Their henleys are comfortable enough to wear around the house and are a definite step up from your basic t-shirt. Their collared shirt collection ranges from their flannel/polyester line to a more formal line that could be worn to a wedding or similar event. With prices starting at $125 coupled with their comfort, Made in America label and lack of associated dry cleaning bill, we believe they are one of our highest value products. Here are a few of our favorites below.

Ledbury

Ledbury was founded by studying in shirtmaking in England. The result was “Saville Rowe” like details and a fit that was much more tailored than the typical dress shirt in the market. This is QG’s top selling dress/business shirt and is priced in QG’s mid-range. Our customers love the spread and stance of the Ledbury collar along with it’s trimmer fit. Made with fabric from some of the finest mills in the world and attention to small details such as the lower placement of the second button for a better look when worn casually and reinforced buttons, Ledbury is another great value starting at $145.

The latest edition to our shirt collection is for those who demand the best, and although it is on the highest end of price points starting at $235, the fabric, construction and details make you feel you are getting your monies worth. This shirtmaker has been in the business since the 19th century and is known as one of the top shirtmakers in the world. Meticulous attention to details is what sets apart the quality of a Stenström’s shirt. Each Stenströms shirt consists of 23 components that are cut and assembled with precision. The process involves 60 distinct operations that are checked at five critical inspection stations. Thanks to their skilled designers, cutters and tailors, they have refined this technique and perfected their shirts over the course of more than a century. Read more about Stentröms in our blog featuring one of QG’s finest brands. This is not just a dress or formal shirt, they are well known for their less formal shirts featuring distinct patterns and contrast collars and cuffs. Below we feature just some of the selections.

QG Custom

Finally, our custom options cater to those who either want a better or custom fit and/or want to design their own details. QG custom allows you to select details every step of the way, including the quality and style of fabric, collar, cuffs, placket, and pockets. Our program also features casual wear with polos, popovers and fun patterns. Price varies mostly based upon fabric choice but typically is more reasonable than most customers think. Additionally our clothiers walk you step by step through the process. Once measurements are finished and we get the thumbs up from you for your final fit, we store these measurements for future orders.

Be sure to come by Downtown and our Hunt Valley locations (Barbour & Ledbury options only) and check out our stock in person. Even if you have stopped in before and felt the selection or price did not meet your expectation, our expanded selection has more diversity of style, fabric, fit and price to meet your needs.
