I thought I would kick off the Allen Edmonds Trunk Show tomorrow by taking stock of my own closet. I have always loved shoes, but I didn’t always love AE. Although I knew about Allen Edmonds’ reputation of quality from my father, father in law and other work colleagues, I had thought they were a little too conservative and boring. It wasn’t until one day in 1998 that I had fell in love with the style of a tan cap toe lace up which to my surprise was an AE. The Dryden in British Tan is the bottom shoe in the picture below. Sixteen years later that shoe is still with me and only been re-crafted twice. It was then, that a marriage of quality and style was born; which has been incorporated into the buying philosophy of the QG.
What’s my favorite AE shoe? It’s always the last one I’ve purchased, so now it is the University in burnished chili which you see at the bottom of the picture below.
The above picture, from bottom to top and newest to oldest: University in burnished chili, Lake Shore Drive in tan suede, Grayson in bourbon and black, Strandmok in suede, Franciscan in walnut, Strawfut, McCallister in tan, Jefferson in burnished brown calf, Dryden in British tan.
Only nine pairs for now, but I will be sure to let you know my tenth purchase at our trunk show tomorrow. Hope you can make it and be part of the special announcement I make tomorrow about the future of AE & QG.
