Bourbon & Bowties, May 7th 2015, Baltimore Museum of Industry
May 7th brought another beautiful night to the waterfront of the Inner Harbor at the Baltimore Museum of Industry for the QG Community Charities benefit, Bourbon & Bowties. This event would not be possible without our friends at the Capital Grille.
Bourbon was sampled neat, on the rocks, and in cocktails. Thanks to our friends at Maker’s Mark, attendees had an opportunity to drink the cocktail from an ice sculpture and take home one of their signature dipped glasses.
Bowties were abound from the Gents, but the ladies were spotted with bowtie earrings, necklaces and even around their bare necks.
The outdoor venue was great for all of the cigar fans. Thanks to Cohiba and Ashton Cigars for providing a cigar for all of our guests.
Not enough can be said for our local restaurants who donated and served tasty small plates. Aldos, Waterfront Kitchen, Heavy Seas, Dooby’s, Capital Grille, Family Meal, Nalley Fresh, Farmstead Grill, and Seasons 52 all brought their best.
For the Third year in a row, The Bumper Jackson’s graced us with their funky mix of bluegrass and jazz. Every year it seems that another instrument joins the fray.
Now we have to do the obligatory pose shots that are a must for any charity fundraiser. Quite a few made it into the Baltimore Sun and Baltimore Magazine.
We were very please to have Baltimore Sun’s Orioles writer and commentator join us as our auctioneer. The auction started with a buzz as QG donated a “makeover package” including a haircut, QG custom suit & shirt, Allen Edmonds dress shoes and belt and finally a relaxing massage from our highly acclaimed staff. Next STX stepped up by donating lacrosse sticks, pads and lessons for a boys or girls team. Capital Grille teamed up again with the QG with a wine dinner and cigar to top off the night at the Office Lounge at QG. Lastly the auction heated up as two bottles of rare Pappy Van Winkle we fought over.
Hopefully you acted fast to get one of the 100 custom QG bourbon bottle cufflinks by cufflinks inc.
We finalize this recap with news on what resulted from all of the hard work of the QG and Capital Grill staff as well as all of our volunteers that hopefully made your ticket purchase, auction payments and straight donations worth your while.
QG Community Charities is pleased to announce a donation of $45,000 donation split evenly between the Semper Fi Fund and Health Care for the Homeless. Thank you for all of your support and see you at next year’s bourbon & bowties on May 12th, 2016.
